SDHC cards come in three performance classes, Class 2, 4 and 6. The Class ratings help the users recognize speed and performance requirements of the SDHC cards and the device it is functioning in. The class is dependent on what write-speed the card has, the higher the "Class", the faster the card is (Class 2: 2 MB/s; Class 4: 4 MB/s; Class 6: 6MB/s). Therefore Class 4 compliant cards means that you get a guaranteed write speed of at least 4MB/s so your device is always going to run quickly and smoothly allowing you to catch all the action. The new speed class enables the host to support AV applications to perform real time recording to the SD memory card.
